Are you an English teacher who is keen to practice your English in an informal setting? Are you looking for a flexible way of fitting CPD into your busy life and schedule? The Core is a new membership programme for English teachers. It gives you the opportunity for meaningful CPD through membership of a vibrant online community of teachers.
What does membership of The Core include?
The Core Community
We use the free Slack app as the base for The Core. This is where you’ll be a part of the vibrant and supportive Core Community. This is where you’ll interact with everyone between the live meetups, access and share resources, and take part in the challenges and interactive tasks.
Monthly teaching challenges
Each month, we’ll explore a particular classroom theme. These include classroom management, teaching grammar, using the Lexical Approach, and so on. First, you will explore the theme with short self-study materials to give you an insight into what it is and how it can be useful. You’ll then work on a teaching challenge, where you put what you’ve learnt intro practice with your learners. You’ll later have the chance to reflect on how it went, and how you might plan to use it in the future.
Monthly Zoom meetups
Each month you’ll have the opportunity to join the live Zoom session. This informal 90-minute meeting lets us explore what you’re learning with the theme, discuss aspects of teaching that matter to you, and to practice your English with like-minded professionals!

Continue getting to know your core colleagues with fun interactive tasks, designed to help you practice your English in an informal and engaging way via the online community.

If you’ve worked with Ben before, you’ll he likes to keep things fresh and vibrant with new additions and extras. With a basis in experiential learning, the programme will adapt to and reflect the needs of the teachers in the community, meaning there’s always something new to look forward to!
When are the meetups?
The Core runs from October 1st to June 30th, with regular monthly meetups (in addition to some additional live sessions). The monthly meetups are held on Zoom on Sundays from 10:00 to 11:30 CET, with recordings available for 30 days. Additional live sessions will be arranged at a time which best suits the majority.
How much does it cost?
When you sign up to the core, you’ll pay €35 per month for access the course community, weekly interactive tasks, teaching challenges, and monthly meetups. You have full control over your membership – there’s no minimum sign up period and no hidden costs!
