I’m not like the teachers you had at school.

I believe that communication is at the heart of every English lesson. That means that even if we’re working on a tricky part of the exam, you’ll finish the class being able to do something in English that you couldn’t do before, and that you’ll want to use in your life outside the class.

I also believe that the single most important aspect of teaching is the relationship between teacher and learner. If we trust each other and work together well, everything else will fall into place.

I’m also passionate about teaching and learning. I’m always keen to try new approaches, but only if I believe they’ll make your experience as a learner more positive and productive. That’s why I commit to using 10% of my earnings towards funding my continued professional development as a teacher, through membership of professional organisations and pursuing further qualifications.

Effective and motivating exam preparation

I know that the big exam probably isn’t your end goal. Whether you’re looking for ways to develop as a teacher, move into that new role, or prove something to yourself. But fulfilling that C1 or C2 doesn’t have to be a boring experience.

I’m also aware that there are a lot of things that can make these goals seem far out of reach. I think many of my learners would say that as well as being a teacher, I can also be a coach, a friend, and even a therapist. My goal as your teacher is to make you love your language-learning journey and to feel proud about what you can do in English.
